No, I didn't have anything written about my intent to renew until May, 2010. I called them and complained about the mistake. They replied,saying the lease has to be honored.
I didn't provide them with any information about my new address because I don't know where I am moving into.

As to Credit report, will the letter from my boss and the certified bank clerk help? I will go to the bank and get certification with my boss letter attached, and then send it out to the credit companies.

The friend working for landlord's association told me that NC state law is type of unique in protecting landlord's interest.

Will I be better off if I hire a lawyer?
