if you believe that the rental office trick you in the lease, then just tell them you will not pay any rent from today and on, unless they offer a settlement amount that you both agree on.

and expect they going to sue you, if you working with a big rental company, 99% of the time they will.

Hire a local attorney to defend you, I bet they will settle if you can prove they trick you on signing a 18 month lease instead of 6 month.
