This is not backdoor ROTH IRA, this is called ROTH IRA conversion.  THere is no upper limit, you have to pay income tax on the conversion amount. 

If your marginal federal tax rate is 35%, there is no advantage of doing ROTH conversion this year. 

你能挣到３５％的税率，也不是笨人啊。
