我的正负号经历

Had a related but maybe opposite experience years ago. To answer a tax question about how much loss I had, I put in a number with the negative sign in front. In the program's internal calculation the negative number apparently was 'subtracted' and resulted in a positive addition !  I didn't realize the error until I received a letter from IRS.
