rent or to sell

We need to relocate to a different city due to job reasons. The employer will cover the closing cost if we want to sell the house.

The house can be rented out for $2500 at the current market condition. However our mortgage, tax, HOA and home insurance will cost $2600.

I would like to sell the house due to the negative cash flow and the hassle of remotely managing the property. Plus we won't get employer's help next time we sell the house.

My hu*****and refuses to sell the house. He argues it is the worst the time to sell the house and now is the time to buy house.

What would you suggest? We are in northern virginia area. House price has dropped by 30% from peak time.
