Here is a case where MFS has benefit

Income cap for 3.8% NIIT(Net Investment Income Tax) is 250K for MFJ（Married Filing Jointly）, but 200K each person for MFS（Married Filing Seperatly）。I am just wondering if the IRS allows married couples to use MFS.
