dental and vision

Vision is simple.  $60 per year prescription check, and go to https://www.zennioptical.com/ for discount glasses.  Around Xmas I got two pairs of prescription glasses for less than 100.  Normal glasses shop is just rip off. 

Dental is at most a discount plan.   If you don't pay the dental premium you'll be saving around $1500 a year.  My family have dental cleaning covered by our medical plan, and we just put away that $1500 and going to pay for it ourselves.  The dental plan is just too much hassel with the estimate etc.  A filling cost $200, if I have to get a root canal and crown, so be it.  It's expensive but not that expensive.
