If you need a good public school, you have many options

depends on the location of your work. Upstate NY and long Island have very good schools with 30 min commute to Manhanton. Queens Bayside has good school, is a little far about 50min to Manhanton. NJ's good school district is at least 50 min commute too.

If you don't need good public school, Manhantan, part of NJ which is close to NY, Queens, Brooklyn all have good neighborhood to live.
