查了一下纽约州关于租客死了或者搬走以后亲戚继续住的条款

1.租客亲戚有权继续住下去。

2.按原房租不能涨。

这个似乎原来是纽约市的，不知道什么时候推广到全州了。

纽约市有很多人（包括华人）一住几十年，其实后来搬走了，但是仍然付低房租，把房子转租给他人牟利。
