房客要负担整个月的房租吗？

7/15我给了3天notice，要求房客要么交租，要么7/18搬出。房客21日晚给了我text message，称已于7/18搬出，但仍有大量垃圾需要丢弃。我的问题是这种情况下，房客是否仍欠7月整月房租。房客message 如下。

As per the notice you had posted on my door 7/15 to pay rent or surrender the property by 7/18, I moved out 7/18. There is a large amount of trash still there and I can clean it out but I am not back in town until 7/30.
