Your comparison is not Apple to Apple. It makes no sense

You assume you are doing a w-2 with income and he is not working.  What's the point of such comparison ?  If he can't find a w-2 job it is not stock investment problem, it is his own problem.   Why don't you compare someone with 1.5M but still on an easy W-2 job, with someone who owns some rental house but has no w-2 job ??
