you should not be bothered by flying ones.

 

They are probably either trying to leave the house or trying to come in. If your house does not have a leak or a wet spot somewhere in the wooden structure they should not be able to find livable condition.

In any event, carpent ants can do a lot of damage. We had quite a few this year (we have a leak somewhere I still haven't figured out, because we always have Chinese stink bugs), but this bait killed them all and I don't see them anymore.
