u r completely wrong on the perspective
1, to intervene, US government is mainly to protect bond investors, so whoever holds bonds of F2 are saved. I do not know if wall street firms holds a lot of F2 bonds, but I know foreign investors like China or Japan holds a lot. So China and Japan are saved not destroyed, because they are saved, foreign investors will have greater confidence on US dollar, so dollar should go higher if viewed from this angle only.
Now who else may be the big holder of F2 bond, I would think a lot of retirement funds/pension funds are bond lovers, I am not retired yet, so from my interest, it is better for US government to give up on these old people, it is their choice to pick those unfortunate fund who unfortunately invested in those F2 bonds, but I do not mind to sacrifice a little bit of my tax dollar to save those old guys, to make our world stable is a primary responsibility of governments. On this ground, look how CHinese government treats those workers to whom they broke their promise, hope u are ware that a lot of retired people in China sits still in the middle of roads here and there from time to time.
Third, to rescue F2, government put government funds' interest in front of shareholder's interest, it is hard to say if government is going to suffer a loss. If it is a loss of certainty, then tell me why fre and fnm's share price was up just a week ago, nearly doubled.
Last, US economy is an open, free market, I would think money from people and around the world has much bigger power than US federal government even though US government has some very effective financial tools. Think this way, how much money US government can use directly on the market directly? more importantly, without telling the public, or without influence from congress or senate. Until now, a direct of use of government's money, is a $30 billion guarantee used in rescue BSC, which many economist believes that government will turn a profit from this act.
So, please put out your word cautiously, there is not a big market for conspiracy in US. different views are welcome, I am always ready to be convinced the other way if u show your logic and facts.
