Yes, star is very beautiful, we took one of the best picture of Milkyway, far better than the one we took from Haiwaii. Also, in the park, there is a hotspring right next to the river too. UT 天文台, you could go for a tour to look at the star from their telescope(the old ones, not the one with lot mirrors) if you are UT student they give you a very good discount,
