One month before the 20th anniversary, "The Platinum Collection" of ENIGMA is a look back on one of the most successful musical projects of the last years. With over 50 million records sold worldwide, more than 100 platinum and gold awards and over 50 #1 chart positions, mastermind Michael Cretu takes stock with a 3CD set release. To accompany the compilation of seventeen selected tracks of ENIGMA's "Greatest Hits", and "Remix Collection" of eleven tracks is a third CD called "The Lost Ones" which delivers a never before allowed insight into the creative sound laboratory of ENIGMA.

Enigma源自于希腊文，它不是乐队名，也不是代称，而是一个Project，不是国名、不是人名，而是一个Studio Project 「谜」的首脑人物 麦可克力图（Michael Cretu）有着的完整古典学院派洗礼的经历(最高分毕业於德国法兰克福音乐学院，主修钢琴及作曲)是奠定他编曲功力的重要起点,让他懂得乐理，合声，对位，曲式等各种基础知识。 当他遇到相交15年以上的录音师好友 詹斯葛德（Jens Gad）更将录音工程，取样(sampling)技巧及量身定作之工作室 (project studio)的概念，积渐纳入他的音乐思维与创作当中。「谜」的音符图腾，从麦可所使用的声音元素中，可感受其对於生命、人类、世界的尊重与性灵的升华。哲学性浓厚。
Enigma这支来自德国的乐队，或多或少你都应该有所耳闻。他们是早期准许引进大陆的国外音乐之 一。从1996年的美国亚特兰大奥运会宣传片的主题曲 Return To Innocence（回到纯真）一定给大家留下 了不少深刻的印象。

Enigma不是团名，也不是代称，而是一个Project，是一个来自伟大德国的音乐工作室，以其神秘主义风格吸引了无数乐迷。神秘主义的主题用现代电子乐来表现，使人产生一种时空交错的奇妙感觉。其中的人声也非常美妙：女声亮丽动人，如夜莺一般悦耳；男声低沉隐约，令人着迷。乐队的音乐取材也非常广泛，源于世界各地。Enigma融合了数种相互衡突矛盾的音乐类型：格雷哥里圣歌唱诗班、黑人舞曲旋律节奏、法语说白和类似Vangelis音乐大师作品的键盘音乐效果。欲营造出虚无灵妙余音妖娆的空幻音乐天地，是“NEW AGE MUSIC”的代表。
