Nolan's films are majorly centred in metaphysical themes, exploring the concepts of time, memory and personal identity.^[174][175] His work is characterised by mathematically-inspired ideas and images, unconventional narrative structures, materialistic perspectives, and evocative use of music and sound.^[d]
