man, what an adventure !! how old are you two, 20,30 yrs ? :) we've done it once before -- only a 30 min descend from Bright angel. it's been our dream just to do a trip down to the Ranch and that still seems to be a far away event. these days it's like to play super lotto just to get a back country permit.
it will help a great deal for other want-to-try-it if you gave more detais on things you carry with, gears, etc. better yet-- photo, photo :)
