-When you visit Space Needle, be sure to pick a nice sunny day around late afternoon. You can then see both daytime scenery and night scene.
-Kerry Park on Queen Ann Hill is another good place to get a nice view of the City, the snow capped Mountains, the Needle and Puget Sound. This is where everyone goes to get a postcard picture of the city. It's not too far from Space Needle but you still have to take a bus.
-From downtown, you should be able to get to the Ferry terminal by bus. Get a ferry schedule at your hotel. I would also take the Bremerton or Bainbridge Island ferry across Puget Sound. And if you do, catch the return ferry before sunset so you get a nice city view from the ferry. And if you are lucky, you might see Mt Rainier rising a mighty 14,444 feet above water.
