You can buy half-priced Broadway tickets at Times Square every day starting at 3pm, for the shows the same night. But the lines can be long, and you may have to wait for a few hours. Those tickets are usually for shows that are not too popular. It's fine if you don't mind what shows to see. Otherwise, you should buy them on-line.
The MET is great, but very large! I also like the Guggenheim. The upper east side has a lot of fine museums.
NY has so much to see! Have a great time!
