China probably due to "Face" issue would never give Visa Free status to US, UK and Canada - yet the TWOV policy allows visitors visiting China without going thru the often combersome application process.
Yes, getting a 10 years visa if you are not living anywhere near a Chinese consulate or the Embassy at DC, it is a Very combersome and quite expensive process because you cannot do it by mailing like other Normal countries allowed. You must use an agency to do it. The cost shoots up to $500 an application, not to mention the lengthy process.
