The city or the state of RI cannot attract high value business, e.g. high tech or bio tech, like Boston metro. The area is consuming the old money. If you have money, it is very comfortable to live there...

RISD Museum of Art has a very high quality collection at the college level, comparable to Harvard and Yale's art museums.
