Olympic is one class lower than Glacier or Yellowstone but is still a top park. It has diverse geological and scenic features (not like Crater lake or Mammoth Cave, which are "single-attraction" parks), including glacier, alphine meadows, rain forest, and coast line. Its wildlife population is smaller than that in Yellowstone or Glacier, but still numerous. Deer are walking on the parking lot at Hurricane Ridge. I have also seen two bears, one coyote, a dozen marmots and grouse in the Hurricane Ridge area. Elk are common in the Hoh Rain Forest. There are mountain goats around though I haven't seen one.
A few backpacking highlights: Seven lakes; Sol Duc; Enchanted Valley; Hoh River. The top 3 hotels to stay are Quinault Lodge, Kalaloch and Cresent Lake.
Here is my two cents.
