I don't have the heart to point fingers at the dead but have said many what ifs.
it was all over news that they had dinner at 9:00pm in Roseburg, which is over an hour north of their Hwy 23 turn off. To me with two small children, that was very late especially considering the long road ahead of them.

It was also reported in one town they stopped at, they were warned by a local information center employee of the poor and snowy road conditions ahead of them.
Yestoday at the live news conference, the local sheriff in charge of the rescue mission, said emphatically "James Kim did nothing wrong" and touted him as a hero. When asked by a reporter if the county/city will be billing the family for the rescue mission, the sheriff abrubtly shut him off.
One ranger was injured during the rescue mission. I think the recuers(many of them volunteers) are the true heros in the whole incident and they are not given enough credit. They risk their own lives to save others.
It is a very sad and tragic accident and the most tragic and sadest part of it is the fact that it could have been avoided!!!
