They are NOT mutually exclusive - one can do both

and enjoy both.

Such as we love cruises, but we also do a lot of National Park trips.

In fact, the last 2 trips to National Parks were tag-ons to a cruise.

We did an 8 day CA/AZ/UT NPs trip right after we got off our 14 day Panama crossing cruise, in May 2005.

We than again did a 5 day YS NP trip after a 7 day Alaska SB cruise and 10 day stay in Vancouver (which also included 2 separate trips to Canada's NPs, including the Pacific Rim NP).

I post this to point out, these activities are NOT mutually exclusive, and among families and friends, many have similar activities like we do.
