for us then...Tulum it is for the ruins.

I've seen a few comments on how good the public transit system is in the area. Is there public transit to Xcaret (since it's only 4 miles away from Playa del Carmen)? At $320 for the family for the tour, I wonder if I am better off just taking a taxi or public transit there.

Also, any tip on what calling cards to bring for making phone calls? The travel agent at Expedia cautioned against making phone calls using the hotel phone.
