说说多伦多的冬天

多伦多冬天很冷，大概１１月底，开始下第一场雪，这雪过几天就化了，露出青青草来，天气也会缓和几天。但是接着就会再三再四地下雪，天气也一天冷似一天，冬天就真的来了。

下雪了，到处都洁白一片，有浪漫的人就说很美，象童话世界，象丹麦，为什么不像瑞典？因为安徒生就是丹麦的。我不觉得浪漫，因为我得铲雪，那真是力气活，大冬天的，累得上气不接下气，听说有老年人就是因为铲雪，心脏病发作，死掉了的。我不担心心脏病，但是鼻涕常常流下来，这时我就把手从棉手套里拿出，一抹一甩，感觉特粗放豪放，象北大荒的伐木工人。铲出来的雪堆在草地上，象小山，孩子们堆雪人，有时在下面挖个洞，玩的倒是很高兴。这是居民区里，在downtown，雪上落了灰尘，脏兮兮的，一点也不像童话世界。

下雪后，想散散步，就很不舒服，地上多少有些积雪，高低不平，空气很冷，冷气有时会透过脸，弄得牙都冰凉，人也畏畏缩缩，一点也不自在。想想秋天时散步，树叶五颜六色，阳光从树叶中落下，斑斑驳驳，暖洋洋的，感叹好时光不在了。有时在路上走得又冷又累，进到咖啡店里喝杯热咖啡，也会觉得冬天也不是那么坏。

天气冷，大家早上常把汽车先发动，然后回到房子里喝咖啡，吃早饭,但是有时吃完早饭，就会发现车不见了。前年有位女警察，就这样丢了一辆SUV,使得整个多伦多警界都很embarrassing，但是警察们也没完全丢面子，因为他们强调说，象征权利和荣誉的枪和警徽，并没有在车上，所以警察的名誉还是完好无损的。这口气，我们都是很熟悉的。

有大雪警报时，几百辆铲雪车严阵以待，常常通宵工作，但是也只能把高速路和主要街道铲出来，早上开车时，常常打滑，那真是很惊险，你明明想往前走，那车偏偏就要转弯，好像它不是车，倒是一头犟驴。有时会有大事故，我的一个朋友，就是因为打滑，冲出高速路，翻了两个跟头，倒立在沟里，车门卡住了，出不来，他临危不乱，就那么upside down打１１０，打完１１０，给老板打电话，报告迟到，又给老婆打电话，讨论晚上吃什么，还很色情很罗嗦的谈恋爱，直到等到警察救他出来。后来问他怕不怕，他故作大气地说，没啥，就跟做翻滚游戏车一样，就是太冷，因为衣服都在后备箱里。从那以后，我在冬天开车时，总是把衣服放在前面。

我曾经在加州短暂地生活过，相比之下，那里真是天堂，要是不闹地震的话。
