昙花，以一夜的绽放，让人惊艳，让人叹息。深夜里，它尽情地开放，热烈地面对这个黑暗的世界，尽管只有几个小时的美丽，可是却让人难忘。一生只一次，一次换永恒。










昙花开花通常在夏秋时节夜深人静之时，正是昙花开花，展现它的芳容之时。晚上9时左右是它撩开迷人芳姿最多的时候，紫色的花柄平托起很大的一朵昙花，洁白的花瓣整齐地一层包着一层，沉甸甸压枝欲断的花朵颤悠悠地抖动着。在颤动中花瓣缓慢地打开，舒展，露出了漂亮的面容。密而细白的花丝从花芯中旋转地伸出来，花丝的顶部是黄色的略膨大的花药，这便是雄蕊。昙花的雌蕊长得很特别，被包围在雄蕊中，比花丝略粗，也呈白色，尤其是顶端的柱头，开着一朵小小的类似菊花的白花。高雅，洁白，娇媚，高傲地仰着头，绽放开来。整个花朵优美淡雅，香气四溢，光彩照人。因此享有“月下美人”之誉。有趣的是，当花渐渐展开后，过1-2小时又慢慢地枯萎了，整个过程仅4个小时左右。故有“昙花一现”之说。
