I-5 North bound & return south bound on coastal hwy

But November may be a little tough weather wise. If it rains a lot, the coastal hwy (hwy 1) could have mud slides. And I-5 Northern CA - Southern Or mountain passes could have snow and require chain.

If you are not used to curvy, winding road on a cliff, you may find sections of Hwy 1 (the coastal hwy) difficult to drive on. And you can't go fast on coastal hwy. So take your time.

I have driven from Hearst Castle (CA central coast) to WA state coast (hwy 101) at different times and certain sections several times. And personally consider this as one of the most scenic drives in US.

Do a google for Pacific Coast Highway and you will find tons of information. I personally think fall is the best time to visit when the tourists are gone and lodging would be easy to find.
