Like you, I hike for scenery too. I meant mountains

in the backyard of my city.

My 7 mile hike reward included: forests, glacier fed creeks, snow-capped and glacier covered volcano and peaks, sweet juicy blueberries (ate those till I had purple teeth and purple lips-that made me feel like a bear ^-^), ... Only thing missing is the fall colors (too early).

And an unusual bonus reward - national forest service helicopters moving toiletts off the moutain to close down for the winter, which kept my hike quite entertaining!.
