Love the beaches too & "Sound of Music" scenery at
Hurricane ridge, another one of my favorites. There is a spot on the ridge where you can see alpine meadows and snow-capped mountains on one side and Canada Vancouver Island and Victoria across Strait of Juan De Fuca on the other side. Mt Baker and Cascade Range rises above sea can be seen on a clear day! You can actually see another National Park (North Cascade) from Olympic National Park.
I actually like the beaches better when it's foggy.
The surrounding areas are just as wonderful - Dungeness Spit near Sequim (Lavendar capital of US), Neah Bay, Hood Canal Area and not to mention the seafood - dungness crabs and sweet spot shrimps.
