I haven't been to those palces for a while, not sure how the conditions are now.
My favorite beach is at Muskegon State Park, 2.5 hours from Ann Arbor. In fact, I just come back from there today.
Ford Rouge Plant tour can be considered. It takes about 3 hours. If you tour Henry Ford Museum & Green Village, it will take a whole day there.
