Check map, Dominic republic border Atlantic in the north and Caribbean in the south.  Puerto plata is in the north.  The ocean in the pics is Atlantic.  I recommend punta Cana, it's in the east, it borders both Atlantic and Caribbean.  Caribbean's blue water is unique, way better than Atlantic
