If you expect to see Mt Makinley while visiting Denali, you'll be disappointed. Makinley is only visible 20-30% of the time, mostly in winter. That's because the mountain is so high and it creates its own weather system. In winter when many of the lakes and rivers are frozen, you have a better chance of seeing it as there is less cloud.
