good day trip from Paris?

We are going to stay in Paris for a week? besides Versaille Place, Are there any other good day trip out of Paris recommended?
 
Lonely Planet recommend Mont St. Michel. It is about 2-3 hrs from Paris. Is it good?

Any suggestions is appreciated
