Wanderlust, could u give me detail instruction about Baker Road?

I am putting together the itinerary of our Aug visit to NW. I found the Deception Pass and Fort Ebey State Park - the Whidbey Island area. I think we did the Pueget Sound drive last time in wintery March, so will have to do it again. I also found the way to Picture Lake. But I haven't quite figure out how to do the Olympic NP and Cascade NP more time-efficiently.

BTW, we are doing this on a North to South direction, coming down from Vancouver.
