it really depends on which part(s) of Europe you want to go

I were you I would pick July for Scandinavia, and any part(s) just south of it. Very long day and warm enough (in Northern Europe standard - cold water is still icy cold!) Swiss is ok as Yu Chi said (forgive me for misspell your name) but you most likely will still have snow up the mountain pass. North side of Alps is still very wet and snowy up thru late June early July. I had several pix showing the first time I saw snow, up in Swiss Alps, in Mid July. One night our tent was floated by heavy icy rain, luckily we slept on airbeds so we did not get too wet. :-)

Tulip season in Holland would be best in early May. However, you could see just as beautiful tulips in Ottawa, Canada. The Queen of Holland gifted Canada 100 millions tulips to thank Canadians efforts in WWII. Since then, Tulip Festival in Ottawa is a big annual event.

We have visited Paris and Madrid in late March in different years. Madrid is warmer than Paris but if you go to nearby historical places like Toledo, Sequovia, still very cold as they are of higher altitudes.

I dont like March & April as the land is not green, trees have not sprouted yet unless you are in Southern France, such as Nice.
