when do you travel?

If it is before May, you can visit Death Valley National Park in 190.

For example, you can stay in Lone Pine, have a look at the highest mountain in low 48 States, Mt. Whitney. There are tubes before Ranger Station in Lone Pine to help you find the Peak. On the way to Lone Pine, you may take a detour to Mono Lake.

Next day, you have time to visit DV NP: Sand Dune, Mosaic Canyon, Devil's Golf Course and Bad Water, -282 feet below the see level, the lowsest point in west hemisphere.

It takes you about 3-4 hours from DV NP to LV.

Summer in DV will be too hot: 40C-50C.


And alternative in Summer will be: Lake Tahoe => (trace back) Samcramento => Yosemite NP: Valley floor and Glacier Point => Fresno: night => Sequoia NP: go to
www.nps.gov and pick what you want to see => spend a night somewhere/red eye driving => LV

From tourism view point, you may rather replace Lake Tahoe with Yosemite, Sequoia and DV if you do not ski in Lake Tahoe area.

Be aware, both routes have some narrow mountain driving.
