Yes, I think so. I had 3 times, no surprise at all.
First time, I insisted to pay at arrival. There were an agency office over there. I paid & got the key.
The second time, I paid $200 deposit by personl check. The owner left the key at the door in a box w/code. I paid the rest after the stay.
The third time, I paid full with a personal check and the owner sent me the key.
That's my experince. I don't mind paying by personal check or credit card because I can also cancel if something went wrong.
Just make sure not to pay by cashier's check or money order.
