Highly recommend the Hotel Cathedral in Mexico City. We stayed there for a week last Dec. If you pay in cash, they give you 10% discount. Here is their web site: http://www.hotelcatedral.com/. If you will rent a car, you have to leave the hotel before 9:30. Otherwise, the street stalls outside the hotel will make it very difficult to drive.
