all short haul flights too

example : between Houston and Ft. Lauderdale, flying SW you made 2 to 3 stops - HORRIBLE.

Some people like SW, but the reality is, they are not the cheapest - Shocking !!!

Many times you find flights from AA, UA, DL, NW you name it, only a few bucks more than SW, but with non-stop, or 1 stop, and seat assignments. So why bother ?

How many times people have to cancel their travel plan after purchasing tickets ? That is about the ONLY advantage SW has. But that probability is pretty low for most people.

For me, the miles are worth much much more than what the few bucks SW can save me, but for a tortureous flight. No thanks.

AA miles are the most valuable. I used a 25K award this summer, from MIA to ANC, took a cruise. Then from YVR to JAC, visited Yellowstone. Then flew home from JAC. If I purchased ticket, it would cost me $1200 bucks. I earned the miles by flying 5 non-stop FLL/LAX in past couple years, for the price of #180 to $230 a roundtrip - cheaper than flying SW. So you tell me which airline I would fly ?

For the record, first time and last time (gasp !) I flew SW was in 1995.

Europe is different, as the majors in Europe are much more than EasyJet and RyanAir.
