人就不是这样，他们靠欺骗与欺诈。下面这件事情让你了解些情况，以便防范。据我
所知，他们袭击的对象特别着意少数民族，所以我们华人要特别注意。
On July 7 afternoon my home-phone rang and when I picked up the phone I
was told she was from Rocky Mountain power company for the ‘payment’ saying
my check paid to them in June is without signature and I thought I may have
forgot to sign my name on it after I wrote the check. So I said I would write
another check or sign the check when it’s returned to me but this lady
asked me to pay them by credit card on the phone. So I told her my American
Express card but she said they couldn’t accept American Express (after I
told her my American Express) and asking for Visa and then I told
her the information of my Visa card for the ‘payment’.
She further asked me if I pay them monthly by Visa automatically after that
and I said ‘no’ as I want to control my account not to be overdrew. She
told me at last that my bank would ask the authorization from me for the
check without signature and my credit card.
A few minutes later a call from ‘Chase Bank’ asking me to provide some
information so as for the ‘authorization’ but I said I haven’t any account
in Chase Bank and then he asked me if I lost some check and I said no. He
handed up the phone.
And several minutes later a lady called me saying she is from Zions Bank
asking me for authorization by several vital personal information from me
as for the payment to Rocky Mountain Power. But I told her it’s unnecessary
to do any authorization if they can return my check that is said ‘without
my signature’; and by then I felt a little unhappy with what they asked
me to do.
When I handed up the phone I found all of the 3 phone calls is from ‘Private
Caller' without any detailed number displayed.
Thinking over what happened again and again I had some suspicion and called
my credit card company to cancel my card immediately.
Today my credit card company told me a 'Live Wires' without phone number
but indicating its location in Seattle City of Washington State charged
me $210, which was rejected as I canceled my credit card already and also,
I found my check paid to Rocky Mountain Power in June was normally cashed
by the power company itself already.
On July 9, American Express called me to verify the charging fee they feel
need to be further verified and by then I was told from my American Express
card I was charged 4 items on July 7 & 8:
$70 from Rocky Mountain Custom Service;
$231 from Live Wires
$1,583 from GSI Commerce Solution
$47.68 from Pizza located in Washington State.
Those I never used.
I contacted Rocky Mountain Power Company about my experience and they told
me they reported to police already. But I need more people to know what
happened to me, which, I’m afraid, may happen to others.
