I am not an expert but from the composition of your pics I can tell you are already quite skillful. If you need some ref., here are my gears:

Canon 20D (1D or 1D MarkII not necessary)

Canon 17-40mm f/4.0L ($650. Canon 16-37mm f/2.8L --$1300--is not necessary since this lens will be used mostly outdoor where light source is not a problem)

Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS ($1700. Image Stabilizer is a big plus)

If you like Canon lenses, always buy the L-series ones (professional lenses), not the cheaper ones.

B+W polarizer (dont buy the cheap ones. Somebody from Hong Kong is selling this filter at $30 discount. Reliable seller)
