I can go to Halifax this weekend to get a visa before going to London. Flight cost $1300. Driving 1400 miles each way. Monday is Labor Day and the office is closed. Meeting starts Monday and my presentation on Thursday. Sigh. Not worth it?

I can go to Canada after flying back to Detriot, but I don't know if I can change flight without entering the US??

Going back to China is an option for $1000 round trip from London. Worth the trip?

My parents always tell me to do the green card thing. I was lazy (I hate filling forms), and also thought it would be easier once I had a permanent job. Now I don't want to be a professor anymore... I know my parents are right. :( Don't tell your cousin's story to my parents though.
