Yes, We did that.

There are several helicopter tour companies do the tour. The one we went with departing from far end of the Island so we had more air time. They were very conservative - when the pilot saw there were 2 other helicopters below us deep in Waimea Canyon suspending in front of a long waterfall, he told the 4 of us (us and another American couple) that we would not go down - too dangerous.

The most exciting thing was when we were flying thru narrow passages with sharp cliffs on both sides, we had Classical Music at full blast and then at a flash, we flew out and the Sea Sky wide open in front of us ... then he circled around, the twin beaches you saw so often on Kauai postcard at Na Pali Coast are right in front of us ...

Very dramatic. Worth every penny of the price. (Steep)
