Check O'Hare airport area

There is direct commuter train (20-30 min) to downtown. Maybe a little too far, but there is really no "close 城外" in a big city like chicago. You may also want check Rosemont convention center area (near airport). There are numerous hotels priced very reasonably when there are no big conferences.
