Phoneix area's weather was warm. A jacket should be ok. We were told in the Desert Museum that March-April would be the best time to see flowers there.
White Sand NM was very windy which made it very cold althought it was a sunny day. With enough clothes, we managed a 3-4 hours's hike on the sand.
Instead of heading to Big Bend, we headed to Santa Fe area, really nice place but really cold as well during that week.
