不过, to be a globe trekker, one should really consider doing the more difficult FIRST - such as mountain climbing, deep sea diving and visiting more challenging places (亚,非, 拉美) - as posted by "dztang" and 南半球, etc., simply because

those well-cooked tourist spots can always be covered at any time.

This must be one of the few points agreed by most of the travelers, including some chinese dignitaries I met on thet base camp of Aconcagua recently...
