Pronunciation of Cannes

I have just two cents knowledge of Franch. Cannes [kan, kanz; Fr. kan], 'Ka' is pronounced as 'Ga' at the beginning of a word, 'n' is pronouced as 'ne' (like Chinese pin yin). If I am wrong (someone knows France please correct me), the first person who translated to Chinese might make same mistake as I am doing :)

Most Franch beach is not good and we (people in US) are not going there for beach.
