It's a pity you skipped Arles, it's better than Nimes, not because of Van Gogh. Driving in Provence (actually, whole France) is such a fun and easy thing to do. On highway, people respect fast lane and won't drive there for 65 MPH even right lane is empty. However, try to avoid highway whenever possible. So much to enjoy on local road; and, not slow at all.
