Any mountains with big trees in southern CA? Any good beaches

Like those national parks in northern CA, big mountains, a lot of trees, falls,... How about southern CA? Any those area good for camping, hiking? Thanks. All I saw around LA area are mountains w/o trees. :-(

Also any good beaches in southern CA with good view? Not those sun-bath, over-crowed beaches.
